    Ask for images

Describe what you need. Claude Code calls generate_image, gets the image links, and can place the prompt and results on a canvas you name.

    Your canvas, in sync

Claude Code makes the images. You keep working on them.

Name a canvas and Claude Code puts the prompt and every result on it, connected like a workflow. Open it at trynanobanana.net/canvas to compare versions side by side, move them around, or run another generation from the same prompt. An open canvas shows new results within about ten seconds.

It works the other way too: Claude Code can read a canvas you made, with its text and images, and build on it, for example making a story-format version of every image.

    Things to ask

    • “Make a 16:9 hero image for this landing page with Nano Banana Pro, download it to public/images/hero.webp and use it in the hero section.”
    • “Generate three product shots of our ceramic mug with GPT Image 2 Saver and put them on a new canvas called "Mug launch".”
    • “Read my canvas "App icons" and make each icon again in a flat, two-colour style.”
    • “Create an empty-state illustration for the dashboard in our brand yellow, at 1:1, and add it to the components folder.”

    Questions

How do I add image generation to Claude Code?

Run "claude mcp add --transport http banana-art-lab https://trynanobanana.net/mcp", then type /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Banana Art Lab. Claude Code can then generate images with the generate_image tool.

Which models can Claude Code use through Banana Art Lab?

GPT Image 2 Saver, GPT Image 2, Nanobanana Pro, Nanobanana 2, Nanobanana, Seedream 5 Lite and Z-Image Turbo. Claude Code can call list_models to see each one's resolutions and credits per image, and pass reference images to edit or follow.

    What does it cost?

Connecting is free. Each image uses Banana Art Lab credits at the website's prices, from 2 credits for GPT Image 2 Saver at any resolution. New accounts get 10 free credits when they sign up; credit packs start at $9.99 for 4,000 credits.

    Where do the images go?

Your assistant gets a link to each image, and can download it into your project. If you name a canvas, the prompt and the images are also placed on it at trynanobanana.net/canvas, where you can rearrange, compare and regenerate them. An open canvas shows new results within about ten seconds.

    Can it see my canvases?

Only after you approve it on trynanobanana.net, and only for the account you approved. It can list, read and edit your canvases, and generate images with your credits. It cannot reach files on your computer through Banana Art Lab. Disconnect it any time in Canvas Settings → AI tools.
